My AC is running but not cooling. Is that an emergency?
It depends on the indoor temperature and who is in the house. A unit that runs but blows warm air is usually a failed capacitor, a seized condenser fan motor, a frozen evaporator coil or low refrigerant. If the house is climbing past the mid 80s, or there are infants, elderly residents or pets inside, treat it as urgent and call. Otherwise it can often be scheduled for the next available slot.
